I asked Cassandra Clare for a random fact about Malcolm Fade, and this was her reply;

"He has a cactus garden?"

Probably the most random thing I have ever heard about her characters.

Jennifer Lawrence to sing ‘Hanging Tree’ on Mockingjay Soundtrack

jenniferlawrencedaily:

In the film, “The Hanging Tree” starts as an acapella performance by Katniss (Jen Lawrence). She is joined first by birds (Mockingjays), then groups of rebels as the song morphs more into score. James adds choir and orchestra and it builds to an amazing crescendo with an enormous action shot. It is a huge musical moment in the film.

Favorite Movies Cheaper by the Dozen (2003)

Sure, 12 is still our number. It’s the number of months my book was on the bestseller list. It’s the number of job offers Tom turned down before we found one close to home. And each day it’s the number of times I’m thankful there’s such a thing as family.

No you don’t understand how frustrated I am that we always depicted the Apostles as old men, especially when it comes to during-Jesus-alive stuff.

They were probably late teens to early 20s, given the time and the description and some Biblical passages.

They were not ancient old men with long ass beards and wrinkles at the Last Supper.

They were young adult rebels with a cause.

where my punk-rock apostles at

And none of them were WHITE.

21 songs for when life gives you lemons and you don’t make lemonade because fuck that, you’ve worked hard enough this week, this time it’s life’s turn to make their own goddamn lemonade, and anyway, you’re drinking something a little bit stronger tonight.
just turn up the volume and sing along whether or not you know the words, ‘cause that’s life, and it moves pretty fast: if you don’t stop and look around once and a while, you might miss it.

This photo was taken over 20 years ago by Todd Robertson during a KKK rally in northeast Georgia. One of the boys approached a black state trooper, who was holding his riot shield on the ground. Seeing his reflection, the boy reached for the shield, and Robertson snapped the photo.
I think the officer’s expression says it all. This child standing before him is being taught how to hate even though he doesn’t understand it. He probably doesn’t understand the difference between this and Halloween.

If any post on my blog gets really big, I hope it’s this one.

this is really fucking sad
